What's important to us

We work to create constructive, practical solutions to enhance health and wellbeing.

Working collaboratively is important to our team. We work with many organisations including private consultants, local and central government agencies, universities, NGOs and health agencies. We work alongside communities and can help amplify their voice to decision makers. We have a formal partnership with Otago University, Wellington.

We are involved in local, national and global issues. We're part of several networks including the Sustainable Business Network and the Urban Design Protocol.

Our work culture is positive with high priority given to staff wellbeing. We encourage:

  • work/life balance and professional development for staff
  • sustainable workplace practices such as composting, recycling and fair trade coffee
  • a health-promoting workplace, eg fresh fruit provision and a bicycle-friendly office.

Starting out

In 2005 Robert Quigley and Carolyn Watts created the company with a desire to work independently and inform decision makers. They decided to invest their time in what they are passionate about and to combine their skills and energy.

To choose the company's name, Rob and Carolyn tossed a coin to determine the order of their names. The team gradually expanded and now totals nine. Our office is in the heart of Cuba Mall in Wellington city.

Specialty areas

While we do a broad range of work, we have particular expertise in health impact assessment and health promotion.

You can find more info on the about health impact assessment page and the about health promotion page.
